Meet Corey

 Hi there! I want to share a little bit more about me with you. I know that for me, the more I can get a sense of someone, the more it helps my decision making process when choosing who I want to invite into my life, as a teacher, mentor, therapist, doctor, etc. I thought it only fair to offer that same courtesy and vulnerability to you. 

In the photos below, you will travel in time and place with me, from Jamaica, to Hawaii, to Greece, to Nashville, to Seattle. You will also see one of my favorite and most vulnerable photos, the one of me with no hair. This particular photo is from the hair shaving party I had as I started chemo in 2018; thankfully it is a memory now and I have the gift of health. Still this particular photo is near and dear to my heart, as it reminds me of what I can do, the power of friendship, love, and community, and that sometimes we find our bright inner light in the most unexpected of places.

 I know the length of my time on this planet is uncertain, so being able to heal is truly a gift, not always an easy, pretty, or comfortable one, but life changing and filled with potential. Since so much in life is already unpredictable, add a pandemic to that, and it becomes even more vital to me that I live a well lived life. When gratitude, grace, and kindness are my inspiration and expression, when I treasure my relationships, when I treasure my-Self, and when I get to travel, explore, bring joy to my senses, and learn, I find I am living my life well. I also consider I am living my life well when I'm able to hold a safe and gentle space for me as I navigate judgement, regret, harder to feel emotions, pain, and/or suffering. I definitely don't do any of the above perfectly, but I do the best I can, as often as I can, to let my deep belief that "Life is sacred" be a steady reminder and guide.
